You don't need a weekend to get your pet's paperwork under control. With a few documents and about ten minutes, you can build a digital health vault you'll use for years.

This guide uses Waggle Vault for document storage and a separate phone calendar for reminders. It does not promise automatic Vault alerts, shared caregiver accounts or offline access.

Minutes 1 to 2: Gather what you have

Pull out the essentials:

  • Rabies certificate and vaccine records
  • Microchip number and registration details
  • Recent vet invoices or visit summaries
  • Adoption or purchase paperwork
  • Insurance policy, if you have one

Don't worry about the rest yet.

Minutes 3 to 4: Create your pet's profile

Open Waggle Vault, and add your pet's name, species, breed, birthdate and a clear photo. Add each pet in your household as a separate profile.

Minutes 5 to 8: Scan and upload

  1. Lay each document flat in good light
  2. Take a straight-on photo or scan with your phone
  3. Check that dates and signatures are readable
  4. Name the file clearly before uploading, for example "Bella Rabies 2026"; check that the uploaded copy opens

Start with the rabies certificate, then vaccines, then everything else.

Minute 9: Add key details

Write a one-page care summary with medications, allergies, food and your regular vet's contacts, then upload it with the other records.

Minute 10: Set reminders in a separate phone calendar

Copy next-due dates into your phone calendar or a separate reminder app. Waggle Vault stores files; automatic reminders are not promised here.

What you have now

Your pet's most important documents are in your pocket, ready for the vet, groomer, boarder or airport.

Keep it fresh

Add new documents right after each visit. To schedule a checkup, find a nearby veterinarian. For health questions between visits, chat with a licensed vet on Waggle Vet.
